Darren Emerson Darren Emerson needs no introduction to clubbers worldwide and may be remembered from his days as part of commercially successful electronic outfit, Underworld. Since leaving the group he has maintained his status with high profile residencies at London club The End as well as several releases through the Global Underground Label. Darren Emerson is one of the most influential figures in dance music, with a 17 year career which has seen him work with everyone from Depeche Mode to Jamie Cullum. His success is evident in the numerous million-selling hit albums and singles he has been a part of and in his stunning DJ skills. His story began at the age of 18, when Karl Hyde invited him to become the third member of techno band Underworld. 1993’s “Dubnobasswithmyheadman” was their commercial breakthrough onto the then burgeoning British electronica music scene. While working on their second album, 1996’s Second Toughest in the Infants, they released the single “Born Slippy”, which was an instant hit following its inclusion on the soundtrack to the movie, Trainspotting. During his time with Underworld, the band released three albums and sold over a million albums worldwide. As a solo artist, Emerson also emerged as a much sought-after remix talent, with remixes for such diverse acts as The Chemical Brothers and Bjork. Darren parted ways with Underworld in 2000 and then concentrated more on his solo career as a DJ and remixer, and also a label owner. He continued to release tracks by himself and new artists on his own Underwater Records which gained its own night at super club Pacha, Ibiza, alongside fellow DJ Erick Morillo. During its second summer at Pacha the night won ‘House Event’ of the summer at the DJ Magazine awards. Emerson then released two compilations for the eminent Global Underground series; 'Uruguay' and 'Singapore' and then in 2003 Underwater was voted label of the year by DJ Mag.  Darren's recent activity has seen him release ‘Bogota’ in 2009, making it his third compilation for Global Underground. In addition to this he has been busy touring the world whilst preparing for his long awaited debut solo album, due to be released in the autumn of 2010.
